Did you know that your favorite pool and hot tub company also offers exterior holiday lighting? It’s true! We know that one of the most cherished symbols of the holiday season is the brilliance of holiday landscape lights, transforming residences into places of warmth, excitement, and joy. That said, we know that feelings of stress and anxiety can creep up when creating that perfect holiday ambiance, especially for our community’s military families who already have so much on their plates.
Exterior Holiday Lighting That Gives Back
That’s why we created the Decorated Family program. We are honored to say that, for the 13th consecutive year, the team at Swimming Pool Services is offering a remedy – free outdoor LED lighting and decorating services for two deserving military families through the Decorated Family Program, part of Swimming Pool Services’ franchise affiliation with Christmas Decor.
“We have been so blessed to serve our community, and being able to honor those who have served our country is a tremendous privilege for us,” says Michael Panella, Chief Executive Officer at Swimming Pool Services. “They deserve recognition for their sacrifice, and this is one way we can show our appreciation for their service.”
Nominate a Military Family for Exterior Lighting for the Holidays
Want to help spread holiday cheer? Here is how you can be a part of the Decorated Family Program:
• Nominate a military family – If you know a veteran or active-duty military family who would enjoy a holiday lighting display, free of charge, fill out the nomination form.
• Share the Program – Help us reach more families by spreading the word in your community, at work, or on social media.
• Follow along – Stay connected with Swimming Pool Services for updates, stories, and announcements as chosen families are celebrated each year.
What to Include in Your Nomination
Nominations can be made online here. Required information is:
• The nominator’s name, email address, and phone number
• The name and address of the military family being nominated
• Explanation (up to 500 words) on why the family should be a “Christmas Decor Decorated Family”
Nominations are due by 10am on November 5th, 2025. Nominated families must live in Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Milwaukee, and Walworth counties. Nominators will be alerted on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, if their nominated family was chosen. Following a design consultation, outdoor holiday landscape lighting can be installed at the winning families’ discretion.

“Life moves so fast, and we don’t often take time to slow down and be grateful, to reflect on how we ended up where we are,” explains Panella. “It is humbling to consider the dedication of men and women who have put their lives on the line to earn and protect the freedoms we enjoy. We don’t have much to offer, but this is our way to try and say thank you.”
Over the years, the Decorated Family Program has allowed Swimming Pool Services to touch the lives of families throughout Southeast Wisconsin. Each nomination with its own unique story, but the holiday cheer is always the same: smiles, tears, and the awe of a beautifully lit up home for the holidays.
